2022 Chevy Equinox EV coming to Canada | From Around $35,000
The 2022 Chevy Equinox EV will be the newest member of the Chevrolet EV series. Chevrolet will launch the affordable and functional compact SUV in the fall of 2023. Chevrolet plans on launching the retail and fleet versions of the 2022 Chevy Equinox EV. The SUV will leverage the GM’s Ultium Platform and features two trim levels.
Exterior
The 2022 Chevy Equinox EV resembles the Trailblazer but is smaller than the engine’ Equinox, featuring a very different silhouette. It lacks the short overhangs and wraparound back glass present on the combustion model. The car is designed with a LED DRL strip, closed nose section and curvy hood. Flush door handles and five-spoke wheels are present on the sides. Extraordinary designs present in the 2022 Chevy Equinox EV include thick C-pillars.
Interior
Chevrolet opted for an interior single horizontal panel, housing the touchscreen infotainment system and fully digital instrument cluster. The gear shifter stalk is absent, creating more space at the centre console. The 2022 Chevy Equinox EV will feature a 17-inch touchscreen with Google functions like Google Maps, Google Play and Google Assistant. Additionally, the screen will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with various features like the park assist. Physical controls are present for basic functions like airflow and temperature adjustment.
Super Cruise
The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox EV is expected to have the Ultra Cruise system. The system is driving technology that is superior to the Chevrolet Super Cruise. However, the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox EV will have a less expensive and less sophisticated Ultra Cruise system.
Performance
The Chevy Equinox EV was announced with an e-4WD traction system. The battery-electric car has a dual-motor setup, a new BEV3 platform and is expected to use the Ultium Drive and Ultium battery technology from General Motors.
Trim Levels
Chevrolet has named two trim levels for the 2022 Chevy Equinox EV, LT and RS. The RS trim level is suitable for buyers who want a sportier version of the car.
Price
During the announcement, Chevrolet stated that the starting price for the 2022 Chevy Equinox EV would be $35,000 which is around $28, 000 USD for Orleans buyers. The price doesn’t include incentives. The price is
